| In-home training
sessions can be conducted for those dogs that would not fit well
into a group situation
or for owners who are unable to attend group classes due to transport
or mobility problems or time constraints.
In-home training sessions are to
teach dogs similar behaviours that are taught during classes
such as “Come”, “Sit”, “Lie
Down”, “Leave”, “Go to your bed”, “Stay” and “Wait”.
We can also discuss some simple behavioural problems such as jumping
up, digging, chewing or pulling on the lead. However more complex
behavioural problems such as resource guarding, barking or sibling
rivalry issues are better dealt with during a behavioural consultation
where that specific problem can be addressed fully.
These sessions are usually 1-hour
in duration and can be organized at a suitable time in the
owners home, at our dog training grounds in
Cooma or at a near by park within
the Cooma shire. Please note that although in home training can
be organized for clients with puppies between 8 and 16 weeks of
age, we strongly recommend that they join our puppy classes instead,
due to the benefits of socialisation in these classes that
all puppies need.
